Febrile Seizures | Dr Jai Pratibha Varshaney
A febrile seizure is a disturbance in a child caused by a fever, usually from an infection. Febrile seizures happen in young, healthy children who have normal development and haven't had any neurological symptoms before. Kids between 3 months to 6 years can get one. But seizures are common in toddlers in between 12 and 18 months
Symptoms of febrile seizures are:
- loss of consciousness
- jerking of arms and legs
- Difficulty in breathing
- foaming at the mouth
- Fever of 100.4 or more
